The role
We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to support the financial operations across four businesses operating in engineering, technology, and project delivery environments.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys accuracy, structure, and taking ownership of their work. You’ll be responsible for delivering reliable reporting, supporting business performance, and helping improve visibility across the Group.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll work closely with the wider business, supporting day-to-day financial operations while contributing to longer-term planning, forecasting, and process improvement.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Financial Accountant role located in Te Rapa, Hamilton. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for:
- Delivering accurate and timely financial reporting
- Managing cashflow reporting and forecasting
- Preparing GST and indirect tax returns
- Monitoring debtors and supporting working capital outcomes
- Supporting forecasting and annual budgeting processes
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems and reporting
- Supporting the wider Business Support team
- Working alongside operations, sales, projects, and leadership teams
- Maintaining financial controls, compliance requirements, and internal processes
This role will be part of the wider Business Support team, a team who all pitches in with the mahi.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Financial Accounting, ideally in a Chartered Accountancy environment.
- Proficiency in preparing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting
- Complete management reporting across the business at different levels and to external stakeholders
- Strong Analytical Skills with a keen eye for detail
- Expertise in Xero, WorkBench advantageous
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial compliance
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional accounting certifications (e.g., CPA, CA) are highly advantageous
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
