Role Description The Finance Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Port Harcourt, responsible for supporting the company’s financial planning, reporting, and control processes. Day-to-day tasks include preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial statements, managing accounting records, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The role involves monitoring budgets, tracking expenditures, and providing financial insights to support management decision-making and strategic initiatives. The Finance Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to review project financials, reconcile accounts, and support audits, while maintaining accurate documentation and timely reporting. This role also requires continuous improvement of financial processes, contributing to operational efficiency and strong corporate governance.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong finance and accounting skills, including experience with budgeting, cost control, and general ledger management.
  • Candidates should possess solid analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Candidates should possess expertise in financial statements, including preparation, analysis, and reporting in line with applicable standards.
  • Candidates should possess effective communication skills to present financial information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CFA) are an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and financial software; familiarity with ERP systems and oil and gas industry finance practices is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail, high ethical standards, and the ability to work independently and within a structured team environment.
