We’re a small, dynamic team looking for a finance and planning expert to join us in a parttime role to help us scale. The Bluff gin distillery is based at Ocean Beach in Bluff and is known for its award winning gin. As the company grows, it is focused on sharing its distinctive story and products with a wider global audience while staying true to its origins.

 

About the Role

We’re on the lookout for a Finance & planning expert to join the crew at Bluff Distillery and to work with one of New Zealand's most awarded craft gin brands. This global recognition is opening doors for us and we are looking to grow.

This isn’t a sit in the corner with a spreadsheet kind of job. You’ll be responsible for keeping the numbers tidy, helping the team run smoothly, and supporting wherever needed to grow NZ’s #1 Ultra Premium Gin brand.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Bookkeeping

·               Running accounts payable, receivable, and payroll

·               Keeping the books clean and the general ledger on point

Data

·               Pulling together monthly numbers (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, excise)

·               Sales – It’s all about the data, tracking our performance and making informed business decisions.

·               Producing dashboards for the directors

Planning Ahead

·               Helping with budgets and forecasts 

·               Overseeing inventory, stock and purchasing

Customers

·               Helping out with customer queries and support

 

Sales & Marketing

·               Helping campaigns land properly, socials and digital marketing support

 

 

We’re a small team… so you’ll help out with whatever needs doing. 

 

 

What You Bring:

  • Hands on bookkeeping with commercial oversight
  • Xero, POS, Shopify, Tracking COGS
  • Finance analysis & reporting + compliance
  • Qualifications: Tertiary and/or relevant qualification in Accounting or Finance. 
  • Availability: Ability to commit a minimum15 hours per week onsite with flexibility to manage workload peaks (e.g., month-end). 
  • NZ Drivers licence
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
