Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Finance Officer / Bookkeeping Specialist (Entry / Junior) role based in Brisbane, QLD. The role involves maintaining accurate day-to-day bookkeeping records, including processing invoices, expense claims, purchase orders, payments, and receipts. The specialist will assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports, updating general ledgers, and supporting the production of basic financial statements. Responsibilities include reconciling bank and credit card accounts, tracking project-related income and expenses, and helping maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The role also supports the senior finance team with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, audit preparation, and responding to finance-related queries from internal stakeholders and external partners.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Finance and Financial Reporting, with the ability to support the preparation of basic Financial Statements.
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, identify variances, and support decision-making.
- Effective Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and service providers on finance-related matters.
- Proficiency with accounting or bookkeeping software and spreadsheets (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar, plus MS Excel or Google Sheets).
- Certificate, diploma, or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, commerce, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of basic compliance, tax, and audit principles relevant to small or growing organizations is an advantage.
- Interest in impact-driven work and the development sector, with a willingness to learn and grow in an international consulting context.
