Meraki Talent are supporting the appointment of a Finance Officer for a purpose-led organisation in Edinburgh, offering excellent hybrid working and a salary of £30,000 – £34,000 plus benefits.

The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Finance Officer will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function whilst managing and supporting a Finance Assistant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparation of monthly managementacounts
- Ownership of month-end processes and reporting
- Budget preparation, monitoring, forecasting, and reporting
- VAT returns and financial compliance activities
- Presenting financial information to the CEO andBoard
- Supporting fundraising initiatives through financial reporting and analysis
- Managing and supporting the Finance Assistant
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and stronger financial controls
- Helping address an existing finance backlog and ensuring finance operations run efficiently

What You'll Bring
- Strong management accounting experience
- Experience producing month-end management accounts
- Budgeting and forecasting experience
- VAT experience would be advantageous
- Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities effectively
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to hit the ground running
