Meraki Talent are supporting the appointment of a Finance Officer for a purpose-led organisation in Edinburgh, offering excellent hybrid working and a salary of £30,000 – £34,000 plus benefits.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Finance Officer will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function whilst managing and supporting a Finance Assistant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of monthly managementacounts
  • Ownership of month-end processes and reporting
  • Budget preparation, monitoring, forecasting, and reporting
  • VAT returns and financial compliance activities
  • Presenting financial information to the CEO andBoard
  • Supporting fundraising initiatives through financial reporting and analysis
  • Managing and supporting the Finance Assistant
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and stronger financial controls
  • Helping address an existing finance backlog and ensuring finance operations run efficiently

  • What You'll Bring

    • Strong management accounting experience
    • Experience producing month-end management accounts
    • Budgeting and forecasting experience
    • VAT experience would be advantageous
    • Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities effectively
    • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders
    • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to hit the ground running
