Role Overview:
We are looking for your finance expertise to help maintain strong controls and support the business. The Finance Officer position is responsible for accurate financial processing and providing essential financial insights to support sound decision‑making.
You are responsible for:
- Accounts payable function – process supplier invoices for payments ensuring invoices are processed correctly.
- Accounts receivable function – process invoices and payments received from customers in the finance system and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Completion of bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Handle finance inquiries both internal and external.
- Credit card expenditure processing and reconciliation.
- Support with the annual audit process
- Support with monthly and annual reporting
- Assist with monthly and annual tax lodgements (i.e. BAS, FBT)
- Assist with process improvements and the ongoing development of finance systems and reporting.
- Maintain accurate finance records and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
- Other administration duties as required
About you:
- Strong administrative skills with high attention to detail.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
- Organisational skills, time management skills and ability to work positively under pressure and with changing work priorities.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated experience in use of Microsoft Office applications is
- essential.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of Xero or similar accounting package
- is favourable.
- Understanding how AP/AR contributes to month-end, year-end, reporting and cashflow
- Able to learn new systems or processes quickly and operate well in changing environments.
- You will need to demonstrate the ability to communicate verbally and in written form, intermediate proficiency using Excel.
