About The Opportunity

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join Carinity as Finance Manager – Reporting & Compliance. Reporting to the Executive Manager, Finance & Administration, you will lead the organisation’s statutory financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and accounting functions across multiple service divisions.

As a senior member of the Finance leadership team, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, audit outcomes and regulatory submissions. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical accounting expertise with team leadership, continuous improvement, and strategic collaboration across a complex and purpose-driven organisation.

Your Day-to-day Will Involve

  • Leading statutory financial reporting processes including GPFS and SPFS preparation
  • Managing external audit processes, audit workpapers and auditor queries
  • Overseeing month-end accounting activities including reconciliations, journals and general ledger integrity
  • Coordinating regulatory returns and compliance reporting across aged care and retirement living functions
  • Maintaining oversight of fixed assets, property revaluations, banking compliance and insurance administration
  • Steer the Reporting & Compliance team, including coaching and performance support
  • Partnering with operational leaders to improve financial processes, reporting consistency and compliance practices
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across systems, reporting and financial operations
  • Providing technical accounting guidance and support across the wider Finance team

About You

You are a technically strong finance leader who enjoys balancing detailed financial reporting responsibilities with people leadership and continuous improvement. You bring significant experience in statutory reporting, compliance and audit management, with the ability to apply sound professional judgement in a complex organisational environment.

You are highly organised, analytical and solutions-focused, with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. You enjoy building collaborative relationships across teams and are passionate about developing capability within your team while contributing to the long-term success of the organisation. Experience within aged care, health, retirement living, or the not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded.

You Will Bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • CA or CPA designation
  • Significant experience in senior financial reporting or financial management roles
  • Strong experience preparing statutory financial statements in accordance with Australian accounting standards
  • Experience managing external audit processes and regulatory reporting obligations
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing finance teams
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and enterprise accounting systems experience
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and/or National Police Check, or willingness to obtain

Desirable

  • Experience within aged care, retirement living, health, or not-for-profit sectors
  • Knowledge of aged care and retirement living funding and compliance frameworks
  • Experience with TechnologyOne and/or XLOne reporting tools
  • Exposure to benchmarking submissions such as StewartBrown
  • Experience working across multi-entity reporting environments
