They are seeking a Manager, Finance – Real Estate to support their corporate finance function. This role is responsible for financial reporting, investment-related processes, audits, and analytical activities that help guide performance and support the company’s ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Investment Management & Oversight

  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding of investments, including organizational structure reviews, coordination with tax, opening/closing bank accounts, reviewing cash management agreements, and liaising with third-party property managers.
  • Prepare financial analyses and reporting packages to support accurate performance tracking.
  • Prepare materials for valuation, board, and quarterly results meetings.
  • Produce financial and management reporting with a focus on return metrics (IRR, MOC, TWR).
  • Oversee affiliate fee calculations and payments.
  • Prepare investor capital calls and distributions.
  • Manage monthly intercompany reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare financial statements and investor reporting in accordance with US GAAP (Investment Company Accounting) and IFRS.
  • Lead quarterly reporting deliverables, including board materials and portfolio analytics.
  • Collaborate with internal SOX teams and external auditors, supporting audit inquiries and the tax reporting process.
  • Maintain strong reporting controls, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with organizational standards.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Review valuation models and support ongoing performance measurement.
  • Work with the asset management team on annual budgeting and 5-year business planning.
  • Support forecasting and monthly/quarterly reforecasting, including variance analysis.
  • Monitor liquidity and assist in assessing capital requirements across the business.

Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of finance professionals, fostering growth, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Continually streamline reporting processes and implement best practices to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and risk management.

Qualifications:

  • CPA designation (CPA, CA) preferred.
  • Minimum 6+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and industry; real estate experience is a strong asset.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, consolidation, and US GAAP.
  • Experience with accounting/reporting systems (Yardi, OneStream preferred).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and time-management skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in real estate and financial markets.
