Financial Planning and Reporting
- Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and cash flow planning.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
- Analyze revenue,
- costs, margins, and profitability by channel, product, and supplier.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
Accounting and Controls
- Oversee general accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing.
- Maintain strong internal controls, policies, and SOPs to safeguard company assets.
- Monitor financial accuracy across branches, sales teams, and online platforms.
Travel and OTA Financial Operations
- Reconcile bookings, collections, cancellations, refunds, and chargebacks across booking systems, payment gateways, merchant accounts, and banks.
- Monitor supplier payments and settlements for airlines, hotels, tour operators, and other travel partners.
- Track commissions, markups, incentives, overrides, and other travel-related income streams.
- Review online sales performance, transaction fees, gateway charges, and refund exposure.
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition and liability tracking for unused tickets, travel credits, deposits, or prepaid bookings where applicable.
Cash Flow and Treasury
- Manage daily cash position, working capital, and fund allocation.
- Monitor collections and receivables to improve cash conversion.
- Ensure timely disbursements to suppliers and service partners while protecting company liquidity.
Compliance and Audit
- Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with auditors, banks, government agencies, and external consultants.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation for audits, filings, and management review.
- Support compliance with travel industry settlement and reporting requirements where applicable.
Leadership and Process Improvement
- Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff.
- Improve financial systems, reporting tools, and reconciliation processes.
- Partner with operations, sales, reservations, and e-commerce teams to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Drive automation and reporting improvements for both offline and digital channels.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
- At least 58 years of finance/accounting experience, with 23 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in travel, OTA, e-commerce, hospitality, or high-volume transaction businesses is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, cash flow, and internal controls.
- Experience with accounting systems, Excel, and financial reporting tools.
- Familiarity with booking systems, payment gateways, merchant settlement, refunds, and supplier reconciliations is an advantage
- Knowledge of BSP/IATA or similar travel settlement processes is a plus.
