About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional Finance Manager to become our first finance hire on the ground on the US East Coast.
This is more than a finance role – it is a unique opportunity to work directly with high-growth, venture-backed startups and play a key part in expanding Profitian’s presence across the New York Israeli startup ecosystem.
You will serve as a strategic finance partner to founders, helping them manage runway, prepare for fundraising, and build scalable financial foundations – while also representing Profitian within the US–Israel tech community.
Key Responsibilities
Startup Finance & Strategic Advisory
– Lead financial operations for a portfolio of US-based startup clients
– Prepare and analyze management reports, financial statements, and key KPIs
– Own budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and runway management
– Advise founders on fundraising readiness, unit economics, and growth strategy
– Ensure compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements
– Coordinate with auditors, accountants, and external advisors
Founder-Facing Business Partnership
– Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to startup CEOs and leadership teams
– Translate complex financial insights into clear strategic recommendations
– Participate in high-impact client discussions and board-level preparation
Ecosystem & Business Development Orientation
– Help grow Profitian’s footprint in the NYC startup and VC ecosystem
– Build relationships with founders, investors, accelerators, and strategic partners
– Represent Profitian at events, community gatherings, and networking opportunities
– Contribute to business development efforts bridging the US–Israel tech landscape
What We are Looking For
– CPA (required)
– 7+ years of experience in controllership, senior accounting, or finance leadership
– Strong knowledge of US GAAP and reporting standards
– Startup experience is a strong plus
– Entrepreneurial, proactive, high-ownership mindset
– Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
– A true “people person” who enjoys working directly with founders
