JOB SUMMARY

The Finance Manager (FM) directly assists on all strategic and tactical financial accounting matters as they relate to financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, risk management & internal controls, and cash flow monitoring/management/treasury, etc. All of which will be achieved through strong internal control processes and procedures, with a clear focus on continuous improvement.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Assist in creating, maintaining, and communicating meaningful and insightful scheduled and ad hoc reports and analyses for annual budgets, monthly reporting, ad hoc projects. These include profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, rolling forecasts, KPI reports, scenario simulations, and trend reports.  
  • Proactively seek improvements in all locations by promoting effective internal controls, managing organizational risks, streamlining processes, optimizing revenue and cost structures, and increasing productivity.  
  • Participate in preparing for and attending weekly/monthly/quarterly financial reviews and annual budget reviews as designated.  
  • Assist in annual statutory or ad hoc audits, and preparation of accounts/reports, to ensure compliance with local government regulations for all locations.
  • Assist in accurate and timely submissions to Inland Revenue or other government departments in all locations.
  • Maintain and enforce the Group's guidelines, policies, and procedures to minimize credit, liquidity, operational, fraud, and legal risks. Always communicate results and make recommendations of corrective actions to ensure a good internal control environment of accounting, self-audit, principles, and policies.
  • Track and actively manage contract renewals. Draft or review contracts to ascertain that sensible and reasonable terms are negotiated.
  • Support asset management activities including opening, termination, and renovation projects.
  • Work closely with Finance teams and external vendor in maintaining the NetSuite financial management system and its data. Assist on resolving all issues or customization that needs to be done in accordance with the country/industry/functional/company guidelines, correct process flows, internal controls, authorization matrices and structures.
  • Be a business partner to other departments, including collaborating closely with the Corporate Finance & Assets team to assist in invoicing all asset holding or intercompany charges and fees in accordance with the approved transfer pricing scheme.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation and recording of billings, receivables, payables, reconciliations, and journal entries. Follow up on all deviations till final resolution.
  • Conduct team member Performance Conversations, when required, in consultation with the People and Performance team and to follow up on these conversations regarding team member development and training.
  • Be responsible for all team members to ensure they comply with all internal and external operational, financial and legal rules, policies, and procedures.
  • To identify and develop potential talents such that their capabilities are maximised and constantly contributing effectively to the business. To conscientiously develop a viable succession plan for the team member.
  • To ensure team members’ training is regularly conducted (internally/externally) and the training is relevant to the effective operations of the Group in conjunction with the People and Performance team.
  • Keep job knowledge current by participating in educational opportunities, reading trade and professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships with all Naumi Group’s team members.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be reasonably assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  •  Degree in Accountancy / Finance or equivalent.
  •  CPA or ACCA certified.
  • 6-8 years of experience in hospitality or related industries with prior regional responsibilities at a group level; ideally with 2-3 years in external accounting firms.
  •  Candidates with strong business operating knowledge in Australasia, Europe and the United Arab Emirates will have a distinct advantage.

  • Mastery in financial accounting principles and practices, with a deep understanding of financial statements, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
  • Strong foundation in compliance and internal control procedures and processes.
  • Analytical skills with proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and cross-country teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of Netsuite and Opera is highly advantageous.
  • Willing to travel 10-25% of the time, if required.
  • Preference will be given to those who are able to start work immediately or at short notice.
