Finance Manager Jobs in Rugeley, England, United Kingdom at Techcare

Title: Finance Manager

Company: Techcare

Location: Rugeley, England, United Kingdom

Finance Manager

Staffordshire | Full-Time | £40,000 – £45,000

Techcare has never had a Finance Manager. The founder has run the numbers since day one, supported by a fractional FD and external partners. That got us to where we are — but it won’t get us to where we’re going.

This is the chance to build a finance function from scratch inside a growing IT business. Not inherit someone else’s spreadsheets and processes — actually create them. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, keep reading.

About Techcare

Techcare has been around since 2008. The business provides cybersecurity and IT services to mid-market organisations — typically companies with 50 to 250 staff. ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and ISO 9001 certified, which matters in the regulated sectors where most clients sit.

Revenue target for 2026 is £3 million, with a longer-term goal of £10 million by 2030. The leadership team runs on EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), the client base is loyal, and the operation is maturing. That maturity is exactly why this role exists now.

There are two subsidiaries alongside the core MSP: Netixa handles network infrastructure and cabling, and Techcare Digital builds bespoke software. This role has visibility across all three.

Why This Role Exists

The finance function has been managed by the founder with support from a fractional Finance Director and external accountants. That model has worked, but it doesn’t scale. Too much of the CEO’s time is going into transactional finance work instead of growing the business.

The person in this role will own finance entirely — the numbers, the processes, the reporting. Not tucked away in a back office. You’ll sit close to the Senior Leadership Team, contribute to real decisions, and have genuine influence on where the business goes next.

What You’ll Own

Financial Management and Reporting

– Produce management accounts monthly and put together a finance pack for the CEO and SLT

– Own the P&L. Run budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis

– Detailed profitability analysis — project by project, sale by sale — across managed services, Netixa project work, and Techcare Digital

– Put proper financial controls in place and keep them current as the business grows

Cash Flow and Credit Control

– Cash flow forecasting and management — the leadership team should never be caught off guard by the cash position

– Stay on top of credit control and aged debtors. Chase early, escalate before things become a problem

– Handle all supplier payments and banking relationships

Day-to-Day Finance Operations

– All bookkeeping — cashbook, accounts payable, accounts receivable

– Quarterly VAT returns and HMRC submissions, working with the external accountancy partner

– Payroll oversight — coordinate with the external payroll provider, make sure data is collected, payslips go out, and payments land on time

– Asset register, WIP reports, and stock management

Strategic Finance and SLT Contribution

– Attend SLT meetings. Hold departmental heads accountable for their numbers

– Provide the financial insight behind pricing decisions, new service launches, and investment cases

– Support the CEO with board-level reporting and financial modelling as the business scales

Who You Are

Someone who can switch between reconciling the cashbook in the morning and presenting variance analysis to the leadership team in the afternoon. Technical skills matter, but so does the ability to just get on with it.

Essential

– AAT qualified with solid relevant experience, or qualified/actively studying ACA, ACCA, or CIMA

– Comfortable in Xero. Advanced Excel — pivot tables, lookups, financial modelling

– Experience managing the full accounts cycle, not just one part of it

– Organised, detail-oriented, and good at spotting where processes can be tightened up

– Can explain financial data in plain English to people who aren’t finance people

– Reliable. Gets on with it. Doesn’t need chasing

Desirable

– Experience in a technology, MSP, or SaaS environment

– Familiarity with ConnectWise, HubSpot, or similar business systems

– Comfortable with AI tools and interested in using technology to improve finance processes

– Experience managing multi-entity structures or group reporting

What’s On Offer

– Private health insurance

– Company pension

– 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

– Free on-site parking

– Company events and socials

– The chance to build a department from nothing — your processes, your way

– Direct access to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team

– A growing business that’s investing properly in the next stage
