Finance Manager Jobs in Los Angeles, CA at Producer Labs

Title: Finance Manager

Company: Producer Labs

Location: Los Angeles, CA

About Producer Labs

Producer Labs is a music marketing agency based in Los Angeles. We help artists and brands grow through paid media, influencer campaigns, and page seeding — and we're expanding into adjacent verticals, new service offerings, and select investments. We're a fast-moving, founder-led team that ships quickly and operates lean.

The Role

We're hiring our first in-house Finance Manager to own the money side of the business. You'll run accounts receivable and accounts payable end to end, ensuring invoices go out on time, payments come in on time, and our financial operations run smoothly.

A big part of this role is collections. We have overdue receivables, and we need someone who's comfortable picking up the phone (not just sending emails) to work directly with client teams and bring cash in — professionally, persistently, and without burning relationships. Beyond collections, you'll build financial projections, track cash flow, and help us spot opportunities to improve margins and grow revenue across accounts.

We also want someone with a real tax background who can keep us organized and compliant in-house. We work with external CPAs, but you'll own the day-to-day tax and compliance work: keeping books clean and audit-ready, staying on top of filings and deadlines, handling 1099s and contractor/vendor documentation, tracking sales/use and multi-state obligations as we expand, and being the point person who tees up clean, organized work for the CPAs instead of waiting on them.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who likes to take full responsibility for financial outcomes, not just report on them.

What You'll Do

  • Own AR and AP end to end; direct and review the work of a support teammate
  • Lead collections on overdue accounts — by phone and email — coordinating directly with our client-facing teams
  • Build and maintain financial projections, budgets, and cash-flow forecasts
  • Own day-to-day tax and compliance work in-house — keeping books clean and audit-ready, staying ahead of filing deadlines, and handling 1099s, contractor/vendor documentation, and sales/use and multi-state obligations as we grow
  • Serve as the primary liaison to external CPAs/tax advisors — preparing clean, organized records so high-level filings move fast instead of stalling
  • Track and report on revenue, margins, and outstanding balances
  • Identify opportunities to improve payment terms, cash flow, and account profitability
  • Partner with leadership on financial planning and process improvement

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years in finance, accounting, or AR/AP (agency or services business a plus)
  • A genuine tax background — hands-on experience with tax preparation, compliance, and filings (not just bookkeeping)
  • Hands-on collections experience and genuine comfort making outbound calls to clients
  • Strong financial modeling / projections in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Excellent, professional communicator who's confident in client-facing situations
  • Highly organized self-starter who can operate with minimal oversight
  • US-based and authorized to work in the US

Nice to Have

  • CPA, EA (Enrolled Agent), or progress toward either
  • Public accounting / tax-prep firm experience
  • Experience in music, media, entertainment, or marketing/agency environments
  • Familiarity with accounting tools like Xero (and spend tools like Ramp)
  • Experience managing or coordinating offshore/remote support

Compensation

$75,000 – $120,000 per year, depending on experience. Potential for performance-based incentives tied to collections and receivables performance.
