Position Overview
The Finance Manager will serve as a strategic partner to operations and commercial leadership, driving financial planning and analysis to support business objectives. This role will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost management while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. The Finance Manager will collaborate cross-functionally to optimize financial performance and support long-term growth initiatives. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Partner with operations and commercial leadership to develop annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Analyze profitability across customer programs, product lines, and service offerings to identify improvement opportunities.
- Prepare financial models related to pricing structures, contract terms, and scope modifications for decision-making support.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to support demand forecasting and resource planning initiatives.
- Oversee financial activities related to receivables, payables, inventory valuation, and cost tracking to maintain accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, accounting policies, and operational procedures.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities including reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Monitor cash flow activity and assist with payment planning and working capital management.
- Generate management reporting packages and operational performance metrics for leadership review.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests and documentation.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and ERP optimization efforts.
- Act as a strategic finance partner to cross-functional departments including Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Commercial teams.
Required Experience/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience within manufacturing, life sciences, pharmaceutical services, industrial, or related environments.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
- Experience working within ERP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory accounting, operational finance, and manufacturing cost structures.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting capabilities.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills
- Exposure to complex manufacturing or project-based business models.
- Experience supporting operational finance in a regulated or highly technical industry.
- Familiarity with ERP finance modules and process improvement initiatives.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline required.
- Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Finance) preferred but not required.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CFA are a plus.
- Continuing education in financial modeling, ERP systems, or operational finance is advantageous.
