Finance Manager, based in Batam

About the Role

This role is responsible for establishing and managing the finance function within Indonesia, while supporting broader regional (APAC) financial operations. The Finance Manager will oversee financial reporting, compliance, and audit support, while partnering closely with both regional and global teams to ensure alignment with corporate standards.

In addition to core accounting responsibilities, the role plays a key part in supporting operational and project teams through financial insights, cost control, and budgeting. It requires a hands-on and detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working in a dynamic, project-driven environment with regional and global stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and manage the finance function for Indonesia, supporting APAC operations
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and management accounts
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Monitor and control costs to optimize financial performance
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and financial forecasts
  • Track project expenses and ensure alignment with budgetary constraints
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Support tax filings and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities as required
  • Provide financial insights to support business decision-making and project delivery
  • Collaborate with regional and global finance teams to align processes and reporting standards
  • Drive process improvements and identify opportunities for efficiency enhancements
  • Support audits by preparing required documentation and responding to queries
  • Share best practices and contribute to knowledge transfer across global teams
  • Support ad hoc financial and administrative tasks as required
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with data protection and information security standards
  • Build and develop a finance team as the business grows
  • Participate in meetings outside standard hours when required to support global operations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within engineering, construction, or technology sectors
  • Strong knowledge of Indonesian accounting standards and IFRS
  • Experience in financial reporting, compliance, and audit support
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central) is advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, regional and global environment
