Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Finance Executive role based in Petaling Jaya. The Finance Executive will be responsible for managing financial statements, preparing financial reports, conducting in-depth financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with Goods and Services Tax (GST) regulations. Responsibilities include:
1. Financial Reporting & General Ledger
- Maintain a full set of accounts (AP, AR, and GL) in accordance.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities within strict deadlines.
- Prepare monthly management reports, including Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss statements.
- Perform bank reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
2. Accounts Payable (AP) & Receivable (AR)
- Manage the full cycle of AP: verify invoices, process payments, and maintain aging reports.
- Manage AR: monitor collections, issue invoices/credit notes, and follow up on overdue accounts.
3. Cash Flow & Treasury
- Monitor daily cash flow positions and prepare cash flow forecasts.
- Liaise with bankers for facility renewals, bank guarantees, or foreign exchange matters.
4. Tax & Compliance
- Prepare and submit SST/GST filings (where applicable).
- Assist in corporate tax computations and deferred tax schedules.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries for annual filings.
5. Communication & Translation
- Translate financial reports or business documents from English to Mandarin (and vice-versa).
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of professional experience managing a full set of accounts and the complete end-to-end accounting cycle
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field
- Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are a plus
- Fluent in Mandarin and English for both oral and written communication
- Proficiency in accounting software systems, including SQL Financial Accounting Software
- Comprehensive understanding of local accounting standards and prevailing tax regulations
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel for complex data management and reporting tasks
- Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of accuracy in financial reconciliations
- Ability to consistently meet rigorous month-end and year-end closing deadlines
- Capacity to operate independently and maintain high standards of organizational efficiency
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
