Role Description
Based in Petaling Jaya, the Finance Executive plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing our core financial operations. This position takes ownership of the full set of accounts, ensuring accurate book-keeping, precise financial tracking, and strict compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. You will handle everything from day-to-day journal entries and reconciliations to preparing management reports and cash flow projections, actively supporting the company's financial health in a fast-paced retail and F&B environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all financial operations, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Handle the full set of accounts, encompassing daily book-keeping and the tracking of all financial transactions.
- Ensure strict compliance with accounting standards, audit guidelines, and current tax regulations.
- Prepare Journal Entries and complete General Ledger operations.
- Process and reconcile Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), bank statements, and perform other necessary reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate records within the fixed assets register.
- Handle and monitor internal fund transfers and manage banking facilities.
- Prepare Management & Financial Reports, as well as Cash Flow Projections.
- Prepare audit and tax schedules, and conduct related financial analysis.
- Liaise effectively with external parties, including auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers, and government agencies.
- Actively participate in year-end audit procedures and physical stock-take activities.
- Perform any ad-hoc financial duties and expense analysis as assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accountancy, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years of proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role. Experience in the Retail or F&B industry is a strong added advantage.
- Deep knowledge of Full Set Accounting, AP/AR, Bank Reconciliation, General Ledger, Treasury, Asset Management, Tax, and Budgeting.
- Hands-on experience with Xero accounting software is highly preferred, alongside advanced skills in MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- Effective communication skills in English. Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
- A proactive, positive attitude with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Highly analytical with strict attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
