Position Overview
A leading global consumer and lifestyle brand is seeking a strategic Finance Director to support its worldwide Marketing, Advertising, and Communications organization. This role serves as a key financial partner to senior creative and business leaders, helping guide investment decisions, optimize spending, and support long-term brand growth initiatives across a dynamic global environment.
The position combines hands-on financial leadership with strategic business partnership responsibilities, overseeing forecasting, reporting, performance analysis, and decision support for large-scale global marketing investments. The role also leads an international finance team and plays an important role in driving operational efficiency, process improvement, and executive-level reporting.
Core Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities across global marketing functions
- Manage monthly close responsibilities, variance analysis, accruals, and expense tracking
- Provide clear financial insights and recommendations to improve spending effectiveness and support business objectives
- Maintain ownership of marketing-related financial performance, including expense management and resource allocation
- Develop executive-ready reporting packages, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership
Strategic Business Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Brand Marketing, Media, Advertising, and Communications
- Support evaluation of strategic initiatives, investment opportunities, and resource prioritization decisions
- Build financial models, ROI analyses, and scenario planning tools to support decision-making
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and business teams on key initiatives and special projects
- Translate complex financial information into concise, actionable insights for both financial and non-financial audiences
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor an international finance team across multiple regions
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture
- Review deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and strong analytical quality
- Support ongoing development of team capabilities, processes, and operational effectiveness
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Identify opportunities to streamline planning, reporting, and analytical processes
- Enhance financial reporting tools, data visibility, and business insights capabilities
- Drive improvements in forecasting accuracy, reporting efficiency, and decision support frameworks
- Partner with stakeholders to strengthen financial discipline while supporting business agility and creativity
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Retail, apparel, consumer products, luxury, or brand-driven industry experience is highly desirable
- 8+ years of progressive FP&A or commercial finance experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility
- Strong background supporting corporate functions, marketing organizations, or consumer-facing businesses
- Experience operating within large, global, matrixed organizations preferred
- Proven ability to manage budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and executive-level reporting
- Strong systems and analytical capabilities, including advanced Excel proficiency
- Experience with enterprise planning and reporting platforms strongly preferred
