An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Director to lead a dynamic and growing Finance function within a leading UK bank. This is a high-profile role, overseeing financial control, regulatory reporting, tax, accounts payable, operational finance, and risk management activities.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will ensure the delivery of accurate and timely financial and regulatory information to internal and external stakeholders, drive continuous improvement, and foster a strong culture of governance and performance.
What you’ll be doing:
Lead all aspects of regulatory reporting, financial control, financial reporting, tax, and operational finance.
Deliver accurate, timely information to senior leadership, the Board, regulators, and external markets.
Drive process improvements through automation and system enhancements.
Advise on prudential regulatory requirements and best practices.
Support strategic initiatives alongside the CFO and senior leadership team.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of around 30 colleagues.
Represent Finance at key committees and internal forums.
What you’ll bring:
A deep understanding of banking finance, regulatory frameworks, and accounting standards.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development experience.
Excellent communication and influencing skills across senior stakeholder groups.
A balance of strategic thinking and a hands-on approach to detail and delivery.
The ability to work under pressure, solve complex problems, and drive decision-making.
A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
Significant experience in finance leadership roles within banking or entrepreneurial financial services.
