At UNIT (www.unitai.co), we are building at the intersection of bits and atoms. We’re deploying a low barrier-to-entry, global fleet of intelligent robots that redefine e-commerce.
We are looking for a full-time Finance Director to be a core strategic architect based in the Boston area. This isn't a "back-office" role. You’ll have a seat at the table, turning physical-AI into a lean, investor-ready financial engine.
The Impact You Will Make
- Financial Infrastructure & Day-to-Day Oversight: Own Unit’s end-to-end financial stack. This includes managing, auditing, and steering our external bookkeeping & payroll vendors to ensure pristine, accurate, and timely month-end closes.
- Core FP&A & Corporate Budgeting: Design, implement, and maintain our rigorous Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) frameworks. You will lead the annual budgeting process, forecast rolling revenue/expense models, and track departmental spend to provide regular variance analysis.
- Capital Deployment: Lead high-fidelity cash flow modeling and burn-rate optimization. Balance the heavy capital requirements of robotics with tight fiscal discipline.
- Fundraising & IR: Act as a key liaison to investors, managing data rooms, due diligence processes, and the overarching financial narrative for our capital rounds.
- Hardware Ecosystem: Navigate the complexities of prototyping, manufacturing, logistics, and HeSaaS (Hardware-enabled-SaaS) financial models.
- Strategic Advisory: Serve as the "financial conscience" to the founders, providing the data-driven insights, unit economics analysis, and proactive guardrails that steer Unit.
Who You Are
- Hardware Veteran: You’ve scaled DeepTech, HW, or Robotics. You understand inventory, BOM, COGS, and CAPEX cycles in a way pure-SaaS leaders don't.
- Operational Specialist: You’re hands-on and pragmatic. You enjoy crafting the models yourself before hiring a team to run them. You are as comfortable rolling up your sleeves to review transactional ledgers with external bookkeepers as you are presenting to the Board. You understand the tradeoffs behind the numbers.
- Startup Native: You’re deeply familiar with, and knowledgeable of, the VC-backed tech ecosystem. You’ve scaled a startup, and you understand investors’ expectations. You are versed in US financial regulations, corporate tax, GAAP, and reporting standards. Must hold valid US work authorization and be based in the Greater Boston area.
- Global/Israeli Tech Landscape (Advantage): Familiarity with the Israeli tech ecosystem, cross-border corporate structures, or Israeli corporate finance is preferred, but not a requirement. Bilingual proficiency in English and Hebrew is an advantage as well.
