The Role 

This position sits within one of our client-facing consultancy teams. As a Finance Business Partner, you will own a portfolio of startup and scaleup clients, acting as their embedded external finance function. You will, together with your team, work directly with founders and senior stakeholders, guiding them through critical financial decisions and ensuring their numbers are always in order. In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:

Client advisory and business partnering 

  • Serve as the primary Finance Business Partner for a portfolio of clients, guiding them towards sound financial decisions on critical business questions.
  • Deliver monthly client reports through our Financial Management Platform.
  • Build financial models, budgets, and forecasts in collaboration with clients.
  • Help clients identify and implement financial and accounting tools that automate and improve their processes.

Financial controlling and reporting

  • Perform financial controlling and quality assurance, including P&L and balance sheet trend analysis, reconciliations and specifications, and reconciliation of third-party systems.
  • Ensure financial statements and key metrics are reported correctly and on time.
  • Manage budgets and forecasts on an ongoing basis.
  • Handle Corpay approvals, vendor management, and support audit processes.
  • Provide training and guidance to Finance Specialists on your client engagements.

Internal contribution

  • Support our teams with executing on our ambitious AI strategy to develop and offer AI automation to our customers.
  • Support with internal efficiency projects, develop future offering, etc. 

Profile

To succeed as a Finance Business Partner at Scaleup Finance, you combine solid technical finance skills with a client-first mindset and the confidence to advise founders and senior decision-makers. You are analytically strong, thrive on digging into numbers, and enjoy the dynamic of managing multiple clients and priorities simultaneously. You are quality-oriented, intellectually curious, and energized by working across a variety of businesses at once. We are looking for someone early in their career but with the right foundation to grow quickly. We envision you bring the following: 

  • 1–3 years of experience from a professional services or audit firm, a finance function within a startup or scaleup, or a finance role in a larger corporation.
  • Hands-on experience with P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow management.
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as Excel, ERP, reporting, budgeting, or invoice platforms is an advantage.
  • Financial controlling and analysis (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, reconciliations).
  • Client advisory and stakeholder communication.
  • Financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Quality orientation – consistently delivering high-standard work.
  • Curiosity and passion for finance, business development, and the startup ecosystem.
  • Fluency in Danish and English required.
