Finance Business Partner Jobs in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia at P&C Partners
Title: Finance Business Partner
Company: P&C Partners
Location: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
The Company
This is a role for finance professionals who prefer understanding the business behind the numbers. You will partner with operational leaders responsible for large-scale real assets where financial insight directly influences performance.
They are a specialist real assets operator managing portfolios of long-duration, productive assets across Australia. Its investments sit in sectors where operational performance, disciplined capital stewardship and long-term value creation matter. Rather than taking a passive ownership approach, the group remains closely involved in the assets it operates. This creates a finance environment where reporting is shaped by real operational drivers, from valuation movements and liquidity management to stakeholder governance across multiple entities.
Finance therefore plays a central role in maintaining confidence across senior leadership, investors and external stakeholders. Accuracy matters. Judgement matters. Information must be clear, defensible and delivered to a consistently high standard. Within this portfolio sits the organisation’s most strategically important operating platform, a large-scale pastoral and livestock business spanning remote locations and connected to international supply chains. It is complex, asset-intensive, highly operational and central to the group’s long-term value creation agenda.
The Role
As the Finance Business Partner, you will act as the financial lead supporting a complex portfolio that includes large-scale pastoral operations, investor-backed asset structures and international livestock activities. The environment is operationally demanding, with performance shaped by seasonality, logistics, biological production cycles and capital investment decisions.
Working closely with operational leaders and the Executive GM, you will be responsible for financial planning, forecasting and performance reporting across multiple entities. You will translate operational activity into clear financial insight and support decision-making across production, cost management, capital allocation and performance improvement.
A key part of this role is lifting the finance rhythm. This hire is intended to strengthen structure, therefore improving forecasting and creating the space for higher-value commercial insight.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across the portfolio
- Owning scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis for operational performance
- Managing monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles across multiple entities
- Acting as the finance partner to operational leaders and senior executives
- Delivering cost, margin and profitability insight to support decision-making
- Analysing variances and identifying key issues, risks and improvement levers
- Maintaining rolling forecast models with up-to-date operational assumptions
- Conducting feasibility analysis on capital investment proposals
- Providing oversight and coordination for international operational finance inputs
- Mentoring a small team of finance staff to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes
About You
You are a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working close to operations and understanding what actually drives performance. You bring strong technical capability and you are comfortable engaging with operational stakeholders, translating financial information into practical insights people can act on.
You are structured and disciplined, but not rigid. You know how to bring order to complexity, improve processes and lift reporting standards without losing the trust of the people running the operation. Most importantly, you build credibility quickly. You do what you say you’ll do, you follow the detail and you can communicate clearly, even when the environment is fast-moving.

- Experience in a Finance Business Partner, Commercial Finance or Finance Manager role
- Strong FP&A capability including budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling
- Experience in complex, multi-entity environments with stakeholder reporting requirements
- Ability to translate operational performance into meaningful commercial insight
