My client, one of Ireland’s leading architectural firms, and based in Central Dublin, are seeking a commercially focused Finance Business Partner to support a group of Directors, senior architects, and project leads. The role will own financial performance across a portfolio of projects, providing strategic insight, driving profitability, strengthening controls, and supporting commercial decision-making.
This is an opportunity for an experienced finance professional who thrives in a project-based environment and can operate independently while influencing senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead finance partner for a portfolio of projects and business units.
- Own project financial performance, including revenue, profitability, cash flow, forecasting, and resource planning.
- Provide commercial insight and challenge to support business decisions, pricing, and growth opportunities.
- Monitor project budgets, margins, WIP, and billing performance, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions.
- Deliver financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support strategic planning and operational performance.
- Partner with Directors and project teams to improve commercial outcomes and financial discipline.
- Review commercial terms, contracts, and proposals to ensure profitability and risk management.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, controls, and the adoption of AI-enabled solutions.
- Support and mentor junior finance team members where required.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- 5+ years' post-qualified experience in Finance Business Partnering, Commercial Finance, or Project Finance.
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and performance analysis.
- Knowledge of project accounting, revenue recognition, WIP, and margin management.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate financial data into commercial actions.
- Advanced Excel skills; Power BI experience desirable.
- Experience within architecture, engineering, construction, property, consultancy, or other project-based professional services environments is advantageous.
- Commercially astute and highly analytical.
- Self-directed, proactive, and comfortable operating with autonomy.
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.
- Able to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail.
- Results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary- €80,000-€90,000
- Bonus
