The Company
A large-scale, multi-year transformation programme is underway within a purpose-driven organisation focused on delivering long-term impact, enhancing stakeholder experience, and ensuring sustainable growth.
As the programme accelerates, there is a need for an experienced Project Finance & Benefits Lead to establish a robust, practical financial management and benefits tracking framework across a complex portfolio of initiatives.
The Role
- Design and implement a consistent approach to tracking programme and workstream costs
- Establish clear budget structures, ownership, and financial controls
- Develop forecasting models including burn rate and estimate-to-complete
- Provide forward visibility of costs across initiatives
- Identify financial risks, pressures, and trade-offs early
- Align financial tracking with benefits realisation frameworks
- Connect investment decisions with delivery outcomes and measurable value
- Support practical tracking of benefits over time
- Build a clear and effective financial reporting suite for senior stakeholders
- Ensure reporting drives decision-making, not just visibility
Your Profile
You are a commercially minded finance professional with a track record of operating in complex transformation environments.
You bring:
- Proven experience establishing project or programme financial management frameworks
- Strong financial modelling and forecasting capability
- The ability to operate across multiple stakeholders and workstreams
- A clear understanding of the link between investment, delivery, and benefits realisation
- A hands-on approach – you build and embed, not just design
- Comfort working in evolving environments where structure is still being defined
- Experience in the public sector or education environment is beneficial, but not essential.
