About The Role

The Financial Analyst II at CHRISTUS Health plays a pivotal role in supporting the organization’s revenue cycle management through detailed data analysis and reporting. This position involves synthesizing complex financial data from multiple sources to generate clear, actionable insights that aid in strategic decision-making. The analyst will work closely with various facilities, corporate groups, and senior leadership to identify opportunities for revenue enhancement, operational efficiency, and cash flow improvement. A core aspect of this role is developing and maintaining financial models that support the evaluation of revenue cycle initiatives, benchmarking performance metrics, and standardizing reporting processes across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of healthcare revenue cycles, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, preferably within a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, or business intelligence platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle processes, billing, coding, and reimbursement methodologies is preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to present complex data clearly and concisely.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance existing capabilities related to the standardization and consolidation of revenue cycle reporting across the organization.
  • Assist in establishing standardized goal-setting, productivity metrics, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Collect, synthesize, and communicate relevant financial and operational data to support strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of benchmarking and comparative reporting of key revenue cycle metrics.
  • Perform financial opportunity assessments for hospitals to identify areas for revenue cycle improvement.
  • Support strategic planning efforts by focusing resources on high-priority areas to optimize cash flow and revenue realization.
  • Develop financial models and analytical tools to evaluate the impact of revenue cycle strategies and initiatives.
  • Assist in implementing strategies and measuring their effectiveness through performance metrics.
  • Provide analysis and insights to operational teams to enhance their ability to detect current and future performance issues.
  • Build and maintain internal relationships at both corporate and facility levels to foster support and collaboration for initiatives.
  • Engage with external partners to gain insights and develop new competencies related to revenue cycle management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilize advanced computing skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Participate as an active team member, contributing to a collaborative work environment.
  • Prepare special projects and ad-hoc analyses as assigned to support organizational goals.
