We're working with a dynamic and forward-thinking London local authority on this exciting opportunity. This is a chance to put your financial expertise at the heart of community transformation, working within an award-winning state-of-the-art civic hub.
Seeking ambitious part-qualified accountants or AAT specialists to join three high-impact teams: Capital, Housing (HRA), or Children & Young People. You will act as a Finance Business Partner, leveraging advanced financial modelling and data analysis to drive multi-million pound strategic decisions and safeguard public resources.
The Role
- Lead as a Finance Business Partner across Capital projects, Housing Revenue Accounts, or Education directorates.
- Conduct complex financial modelling and data analysis to support budget setting and long-term business planning.
- Prepare annual statements of accounts, asset registers, and statutory financial reporting in compliance with local government regulations.
- Drive financial insight and decision-making by advising senior officers on resource allocation and cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage reconciliations, audit queries, and financial checks to ensure total transparency and fiscal responsibility.
What You'll Need
- Part-qualified Accountant status (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or a completed AAT qualification.
- Proven proficiency in financial modelling and advanced Excel for handling complex data sets.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, with a genuine curiosity for statutory regulations and funding mechanisms.
- Experience in Public Sector, Local Government, or Not-for-Profit finance is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
