Company Overview
bTaskee is a technology platform operating a service marketplace connecting customers with independent service providers ("Taskers") for hourly home/family care services. bTaskee Technology Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is a newly incorporated subsidiary (May 2025) of a regional group with operations across Southeast Asia. We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Executive to manage full-set accounting and tax compliance for our Malaysia entity during this critical growth and compliance-setup phase.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full-Set Bookkeeping & Financial Reporting
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping: AP, AR, general ledger, bank reconciliation, and month-end closing
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reports for local management and regional HQ (Vietnam/Singapore)
- Maintain proper accounting records in compliance with MPERS/MFRS as applicable
- Support preparation of financial statements for statutory audit
2. Tax Compliance (CIT, SST, Withholding Tax)
- Coordinate with external tax agent on Corporate Income Tax matters: CP204/CP204A estimates, Form C filing, tax computation
- Manage SST registration and ongoing compliance (SST-02 filings), working closely with tax agent on the company's marketplace revenue recognition position (platform commission vs. gross transaction value)
- Monitor monthly/rolling revenue against SST registration thresholds
- Handle withholding tax matters where applicable
3. e-Invoice (MyInvois) Implementation & Compliance
- Lead the administrative side of e-Invoice rollout: TIN verification, MyTax registration, MyInvois Portal setup, Client ID/Secret provisioning
- Liaise with internal DEV team on API integration requirements and testing (Sandbox environment)
- Manage ongoing e-Invoice issuance (consolidated and individual invoices) post go-live
- Ensure compliance ahead of the relevant deadline and maintain "reasonable effort" documentation during the transition period
4. Stamp Duty (e-Duti Setem) & Document Compliance
- Manage stamp duty obligations for Tasker Cooperation Agreements and employment contracts
- Register and operate the Company Administrator role on MyTax / e-Duti Setem
- Track 30-day stamping deadlines for newly executed agreements and maintain a compliance tracker
- Coordinate any voluntary disclosure programme (PKPS) submissions for historical unstamped documents
5. Payroll & HR-Related Compliance
- Process monthly payroll: PCB, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, HRDF contributions
- Prepare and submit Form E, Form EA, CP22/CP22A
- Liaise with payroll/HR vendor (if outsourced) and ensure timely statutory submissions
6. Corporate Secretarial & Statutory Compliance Coordination
- Work with the appointed Company Secretary on SSM filings: Annual Return, financial statement submissions, changes in company particulars
- Track and manage key compliance deadlines (FYE-related filings, audit exemption assessment, board resolutions)
- Maintain organized records of company statutory documents (TIN, SSM certificates, authorization letters, etc.)
7. External Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for external service providers: tax agents, auditors, company secretary, payroll vendors
- Review and evaluate service proposals/quotations from external agencies
- Ensure timely document preparation and submission to meet all external deadlines
8. Audit Preparation
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for annual statutory audit
- Liaise with appointed auditor and respond to audit queries
- Support the company's positioning on key accounting judgments (e.g., agent vs. principal revenue recognition under MFRS 15 for the marketplace business model)
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MIA membership) is an advantage
- Minimum 3-5 years of full-set accounting experience, preferably in an SME, startup, or fast-growing company environment
- Solid working knowledge of Malaysian tax compliance: SST, Corporate Income Tax, withholding tax, and stamp duty
- Familiarity with MyTax Portal, e-Invoice (MyInvois), and e-Duti Setem systems (or strong willingness to learn quickly)
- Understanding of MPERS/MFRS accounting frameworks
- Experience working with external tax agents, company secretaries, and auditors
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal (for coordination with regional HQ)
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., AutoCount, SQL Accounting, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Proactive, organized, and comfortable working independently in a lean team with multiple concurrent deadlines
