This search is highly specific. Only candidates meeting all of the below criteria will be considered:
✔️ Must currently reside in California and be able to relocate to Ventura County / Santa Barbara region at candidate’s own expense if not already local
✔️ Must be available for regular on-site leadership presence and regional travel between Camarillo, Oxnard, and Santa Barbara practice sites
✔️ Minimum 3+ years senior executive leadership experience overseeing multi-site physician practice operations
✔️ Must come from a private practice / physician-owned specialty medical group environment
✔️ Must have leadership experience in one or more of the following specialties:
- Neurosurgery
- Orthopedic Surgery
- Spine Surgery
- Pain Management
- Neurology
- Other procedural / surgical specialty groups
✔️ Must have direct ownership of:
- P&L management
- Budgeting / forecasting
- Revenue cycle / billing oversight
- Clinic operations
- Provider productivity / scheduling
- Staffing / HR leadership
- Growth strategy / marketing accountability
- KPI dashboard management
❌ Hospital-only, nonprofit, health plan, FQHC, IPA, payer-side, or non-physician practice experience will not meet criteria
🧠 About the Opportunity
MatchBukh Talent Solutions is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Executive Director / Clinic Director to lead a respected multi-site neuroscience and specialty care organization across Ventura County and Santa Barbara.
This physician-led group includes 12 providers (MDs, PAs, NPs) delivering neurosurgical, neurological, pain, and specialty care services in a fast-paced private practice setting.
The Executive Director will serve as the senior operational leader, partnering directly with ownership/Managing Partner to drive financial performance, operational excellence, patient access, provider support, and strategic growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands how to run a specialty practice business—not just manage departments.
🔥 What You Will Own
- Full operational leadership across multiple clinic locations
- Oversight of clinic managers and cross-functional leadership teams
- P&L responsibility with accountability for margins and profitability
- Revenue cycle performance: billing, collections, denials, AR trends
- Provider scheduling, templates, access, and throughput optimization
- Staffing models, hiring, retention, performance management
- Compliance, workflows, SOPs, and operational consistency
- Marketing and growth initiative accountability
- Physician relations and executive partnership with ownership
- KPI reporting and data-driven decision making
