Position: Director, Product & Hedging Solutions (STG Life Solutions)
Director, Products and Hedging Solutions
Canada – Aon Reinsurance. This hybrid role offers flexibility to work virtually or at any Aon office in Canada.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship.
What The Day Will Look Like
- Build and maintain Economic Scenario Generators used in the valuation of financial assets and insurance liabilities.
- Lead the Daily Hedge Reporting and P&L Analysis Services for Aon’s clients.
- Develop and implement innovative hedging and asset management strategies in Path Wise to manage complex exposures.
- Develop, maintain, and document sophisticated financial asset and liability models in Path Wise to support investment management and risk projects.
- Participate in quantitative research projects supporting investment decisions, applying time‑series regressions, optimization, Monte Carlo simulation, and data visualization.
- Advance robust processes for hedging, strategic asset allocation, scenario generator calibration, and insurance company financial reporting.
- Provide analytical support to portfolio managers, traders, and risk managers on risk, return, and transaction cost/market impact.
Skills and Experience That Will Lead To Success
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Python and quantitative finance libraries (Python or C++).
- 10+ years of experience as a quantitative analyst in investment, risk, hedging, or model vetting roles.
- Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Financial Engineering, Mathematical Finance);
PhD preferred. - Expert knowledge of financial assets, derivatives, and valuation models.
- Expert knowledge of stochastic interest rate, equity, and credit models.
- Strong background in statistics, mathematical finance, and economics.
- Advanced numerical techniques:
Monte‑Carlo simulation, optimization, time‑series analysis, PDE. - Excellent communication skills for team and client interactions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Experience with financial software packages such as Numerix or FinCAD a plus.
