Position Summary
The Director of Supply Chain leads global inventory forecasting, procurement, fulfillment operations, warehouse management, and logistics strategy across all sales channels — including Shopify DTC, wholesale, Amazon, and TikTok Shop. This role partners cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Fulfillment, and the Executive team to ensure products are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time, while maintaining strong supplier and 3PL relationships.
This is a highly operational and strategic role focused on scaling systems, driving efficiency, reducing costs, and building the infrastructure needed to support rapid growth and international expansion — including establishing order operations and inventory management foundations for emerging channels like TikTok Shop and Amazon.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Forecasting & Planning
- Own inventory forecasting across all product categories, including: Plush, Bracelets, Packaging, Animal tracking cards, Shipping materials and consumables
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, and Leadership to gather inputs that impact forecasting, including product launches, promotions, market trends, seasonal demand, and wholesale opportunities.
- Establish and maintain regular inventory review cadences across both ecommerce and wholesale channels.
- Monitor inventory in transit and ensure accurate visibility across all warehouses and fulfillment locations.
Product Management & Procurement
- Coordinate procurement processes with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Create and manage UPCs and barcodes for product packaging.
- Send purchase orders and packaging files to printers and suppliers.
- Coordinate delivery scheduling to warehouses with proactive tracking updates and shipment alerts.
- Communicate discrepancies, delays, or issues directly with suppliers.
- Manage sample coordination for Marketing and Executive teams.
- Participate in product cost evaluation and supplier decision-making processes.
- Ensure purchase orders are placed promptly following product approval and quality testing.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Oversee quality control processes for plush products, including carton reviews for each PO.
- Ensure compliance with shipping timelines, fulfillment standards, and operational requirements.
- Flag bracelet unit costs exceeding approved thresholds to leadership.
- Ensure large purchase orders receive proper executive approval before placement.
Fulfillment & Warehouse Operations
- Oversee all third-party logistics (3PL) partners and fulfillment operations globally.
- Partner closely with the Fulfillment Manager to optimize outgoing shipping costs, improve e-commerce shipping efficiency, evaluate courier and carrier performance, and maintain branded packaging solutions.
- Ensure fulfillment SLA standards are consistently met, including same-day or next-day shipping expectations year-round.
- Lead inventory movement planning between warehouses and regions.
- Establish and manage order operations and inventory management processes for growing channels, including:
Amazon — catalog management, FBA/FBM coordination, inventory replenishment, and
fulfillment partner oversight
TikTok Shop — order routing, inventory allocation, fulfillment SLA compliance, and
integration with existing 3PL infrastructure
International Expansion & Logistics Strategy
- Support market expansion by researching, onboarding, and coordinating new warehouse locations globally, including Australia, Asia, Pacific Islands, and the United Kingdom.
- Develop logistics strategies for international growth and regional inventory placement.
- Evaluate shipping providers and identify cost-saving opportunities across all regions.
Team Leadership & Operations Management
- Build, hire, train, and coach a growing logistics and inventory operations team.
- Conduct performance reviews and regular team meetings.
- Lead meetings with external suppliers, fulfillment partners, and warehouse operators.
- Ensure all stakeholders are informed of inventory updates, operational changes, and upcoming launches or events.
- Manage operational organization systems within Notion, including team boards, launch tracking, meeting follow-ups, and operational updates.
Financial Oversight & Cost Management
- Partner closely with Accounting and Accounts Payable to ensure invoice accuracy.
- Monitor vendor costs and identify savings opportunities across shipping, warehousing, packaging consumables, and operational workflows.
- Continuously identify process improvements through software, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives.
Systems & Software
- Evaluate and implement ERP and inventory management software solutions.
- Research and implement tools for inventory-in-transit tracking and logistics visibility.
- Work closely with Product and Operations teams to improve systems integration and reporting accuracy.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in logistics, inventory management, supply chain operations, and fulfillment leadership.
- Experience managing 3PLs, warehouses, and international shipping operations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish order operations and inventory workflows for emerging or high-growth channels (e.g., Amazon, TikTok Shop, wholesale).
- Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and reducing costs.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Excellent communication and vendor management abilities.
- Experience implementing operational software or ERP systems preferred.
- Leadership experience with hiring, training, and team development preferred.
What Success Looks Like
In the first 30 days, you have a clear picture of our inventory health, supplier relationships, and
fulfillment operations across all channels. You've identified the top 3–5 areas of risk or inefficiency and have a plan to address them.
At 3 months, our forecasting process is tighter, purchase orders are placed on time and within budget, and we have documented workflows for inventory management across Shopify, wholesale, Amazon, and TikTok Shop. Fulfillment SLAs are consistently met and our 3PL relationships are well-managed.
At 1 year, you've built a reliable, scalable supply chain operation. Costs are trending down, international logistics strategy is underway, and the team you've built or inherited is performing with clear accountability. Leadership trusts you to own this function end-to-end.
