The Role
We are seeking a Director of Sales Strategy & Planning to architect and execute the step-change growth agenda that will scale Egglife beyond $100M in net revenue over the next three years — while materially expanding gross margin.
This is not a support function. This role owns the commercial blueprint for the company.
Reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer, this leader will define and operationalize the growth levers that unlock disproportionate revenue expansion across customers, channels, and categories. They will sit at the center of the business — aligning Sales, Marketing, Insights, Finance, Innovation, and Operations — to ensure that strategy is translated into disciplined, measurable execution.
The Director of Sales Strategy & Planning will serve as the architect of Egglife’s commercial model — designing scalable processes, optimizing price-pack architecture, sharpening trade investment strategy, and elevating revenue management rigor. They will build the frameworks, tools, and governance required to drive profitable growth at scale.
This role is ideal for a high-caliber CPG leader who combines enterprise-level strategic thinking with hands-on operating discipline — someone energized by building systems, raising performance standards, and delivering transformational results in a high-growth environment.
What You’ll Do
Own the Step-Change Growth Agenda
- Define and operationalize the commercial strategies required to scale Egglife beyond $100M in net revenue within three years.
- Identify, prioritize, and execute the highest-impact growth levers across distribution expansion, velocity improvement, trade optimization, pricing strategy, innovation commercialization, and channel expansion.
- Lead annual planning and long-range planning processes with explicit revenue and gross margin expansion targets.
- Design and govern price-pack architecture to maximize consumer value perception and retailer profitability while expanding margin.
- Elevate trade promotion strategy through ROI discipline, guardrails, post-event analytics, and spend optimization.
- Partner with cross-functionally to continuously improve mix, pricing, and promotional effectiveness.
- Build scalable forecasting and scenario-planning capabilities that support both growth ambition and supply discipline.
Turn Insights into Action
- Lead & develop the Business Insights team to analyze category, shopper, and consumption data to inform decision-making.
- Serve as the link between Business Insights and Marketing, transforming data into brand activation strategies.
- Build dashboards, KPIs, and scorecards to measure execution, forecast accuracy, and promotional ROI.
- Monitor trends and competitive activity to guide sales decision-making.
- Provide regular updates and insights to executive leadership on business performance and opportunities.
Lead Cross-Functional Alignment
- Act as the conduit between Sales, Marketing, Innovation and Business Insights to ensure strategies are cohesive and execution is seamless.
- Partner with Marketing and Innovation to align brand priorities, innovation launches, and shopper marketing plans.
- Serve as Sales Subject Matter Expert for Innovation Strategy, ensuring customer and channel specific needs and requirements are represented as a critical input into Innovation Strategy.
- Partner cross-functionally to design go-to-market strategies for innovation launches, ensuring readiness from concept through in-market execution.
- Define Egglife’s price pack architecture to ensure consumer relevance and profitable growth across customers and channels.
- Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain on demand forecast to ensure customer plans are backed by inventory and supply reliability.
- Partner with Finance and Revenue Management on trade spend strategy, ROI analysis, and pricing decisions.
- Lead commercial team alignment on annual revenue budget and 5-year LRP
Build and Inspire Teams
- Develop and mentor account managers and rising talent in sales planning best practices.
- Lay the foundation for a scalable Sales Strategy & Planning function.
- Champion a culture of collaboration, accountability, and results.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in Sales Strategy, Sales Planning, or related roles within the Food & Beverage or CPG industry.
- Proven expertise in price pack architecture, pricing strategy, trade planning, and revenue management.
- Strong background in consumer insights, category management, and data systems.
- Proven track record of cross-functional leadership and delivering commercial outcomes.
- Proven ability to translate strategy into action and drive results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to simplify complex data into actionable strategies.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills; ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, Spins, Circana) and trade optimization tools preferred.
