ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
A rapidly growing infrastructure solutions platform is seeking a Director of Operations – East Region to oversee regional field execution and PMO leadership across roadway safety and transportation infrastructure projects throughout the Western region. This role will drive operational consistency, project profitability, safety performance, workforce development, and cross-functional alignment while supporting long-term business scalability and growth initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of operational leadership, project management expertise, financial acumen, and construction field experience. This is a highly visible leadership role with direct impact on operational performance, team development, customer satisfaction, and strategic execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead multi-region roadway safety and infrastructure operations across concurrent projects
- Oversee field execution through project managers, superintendents, and regional leadership teams
- Drive project delivery focused on safety, quality, schedule adherence, and profitability
- Manage operational budgets, project margins, P&L performance, forecasting, and financial accountability
- Lead PMO functions including scheduling, resource allocation, reporting, stakeholder communication, and project controls
- Implement lean operational improvements and scalable systems to improve efficiency and operational maturity
- Develop high-performing field and operations teams while mentoring emerging leaders
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Estimating, Safety, and Supply Chain teams
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, roadway safety regulations, traffic control requirements, and company safety practices
- Travel regularly throughout the Western region to support project execution, client relationships, and field leadership initiatives
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of experience within construction, infrastructure, industrial services, or field operations environments
- 5+ years of operational leadership and project management responsibility
- Strong experience managing project budgets, margins, change orders, and operational financial performance
- Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed teams and multiple concurrent projects
- Experience improving operational performance through process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence both field personnel and executive stakeholders
- Experience with PMO operations, scheduling, forecasting, and resource management
- Proficiency with tools such as Procore, Smartsheet, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related field preferred
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
- Roadway safety, guardrail, transportation infrastructure, or heavy civil construction experience
- Lean Six Sigma, PMP, OSHA, or similar operational certifications
- Experience scaling multi-site or regional operations
- Strong understanding of field execution combined with operational and financial leadership
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Base salary range: $155,000 – $185,000
