Associate Director, Operations Finance (Capital & Inventory Focus)
Location: North Suburbs, IL | Hybrid (Skokie, Evanston, Northbrook-Adjacent area)
Compensation: $150K–$190K+ base + bonus + benefits package
Responsibilities
- Lead capital planning and investment analysis, including NPV, IRR, ROI, and business case development
- Oversee capital expenditure governance, including evaluation, approval, and tracking of investment performance
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and engineering leadership to support capital deployment decisions
- Monitor project spend, financial returns, and realization of projected benefits
- Analyze inventory trends, working capital performance, and cash flow impact
- Partner with plant and supply chain teams on inventory reduction and optimization initiatives
- Evaluate slow-moving and obsolete inventory and support process improvements
- Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic decision making
- Support long-range planning (LRP), annual operating plans (AOP), and forecasting processes
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership on operational and strategic initiatives
- Support transformation initiatives across manufacturing and supply chain operations
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to improve efficiency, cost structure, and financial performance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 12+ years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, accounting, or operations finance
- Prior experience supporting manufacturing, operations, or supply chain functions
- Strong experience with capital investment analysis, including ROI, IRR, and NPV modeling
- Experience with inventory management, working capital, and operational finance metrics
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills
- Prior accounting foundation with strong understanding of financial statements and GAAP
- Experience partnering with senior leadership and influencing decision making
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, complex, and cross-functional environment
- ERP system experience (JDE or similar preferred)
