ABOUT THE ROLE
We are searching for a Director of Finance for a luxury resort in the Caribbean. This is a senior on-site leadership role responsible for all aspects of the property's financial operations, reporting directly to the General Manager. The right candidate brings strong hospitality finance expertise, a proactive mindset, and the ability to partner effectively with both property leadership and ownership.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial controls and accounting procedures in line with GAAP and local legal requirements
- Provide accurate and timely financial information to support effective decision-making across the leadership team
- Lead the preparation of financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses, with actionable recommendations
- Identify opportunities to improve hotel profitability and implement process improvements across financial systems
- Manage cash funds, assets, credit and collections policy, and ensure robust controls to protect property assets
- Oversee internal and external audits and coordinate statutory account preparation and filing
- Lead, develop, and evaluate the finance team to ensure professional growth and continuity
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage and compliance with management contract requirements
WHAT YOU BRING
- Minimum 3 years of senior financial leadership experience in luxury hospitality
- Proven track record in financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, GAAP, compliance, and internal controls
- Excellent leadership skills with experience building and mentoring a finance team
- Proficiency in Excel and hospitality financial systems; experience with Opera, Sun, or similar platforms is an advantage
- Fluent in both English and Spanish, written and spoken
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; Master's degree or MBA preferred
