We are seeking a strategic, hands-on financial leader who will help guide the company’s financial direction while supporting operational excellence and long-term growth. This role is responsible for overseeing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, cash flow management, and accounting operations while partnering closely with leadership to drive sound business decisions. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong analytical skills, a continuous improvement mindset.

Position Objective

The Director of Finance has primary responsibility for risk management, information systems, legal and all financial data for the company. The Director of Finance will represent the company in financial negotiations, banking, and investor relations as well as helping to set and drive the financial strategy for the company. Member of Crary Industries’ senior management team. Works closely with Crary Industries subsidiary accounting and finance people.  

Scope

Oversees financial information at all Crary Industries locations. Direct reports include Crary Industries Controller, IT Manager, and Accounts Payable/ Accounts Receivable/Front Desk Coordinator.

Key Activities/Responsibilities:

·        Prepare consolidated financial statements. Oversee and develop accounting systems at the various companies to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

·        Prepare consolidated annual budget, working with top management and department management to develop budgets for all the Crary Industries companies. Analyze monthly budget variances, reporting to management any significant variances.

·        Responsible for the cash management of the company and all related treasury functions. Includes the review and approval of weekly cash advance requests. The Director of Finance will be responsible for the forecasting of estimated cash availability and monitoring the availability of funds. Handle day-to-day relations with the company's banking partners.

·        Take an active role in future acquisitions of Crary Industries including financial and operational due diligence. Must be able to efficiently integrate future acquisitions.

·        Responsible for the monitoring of inventory and the buildup of inventory. Includes interaction with the sales and manufacturing departments to ensure that inventory production reflects projected sales levels. Review the overall inventory and bring problem areas to the attention of upper management.

·        Review accounts receivable aging on a regular basis, investigating past due amounts and being active in the timely collection. 

·        Responsible for maintenance of the company’s fixed asset systems. Responsible for annual inventory of these assets and the development of capital expenditure budgets.

·        Responsible for all inter-company transactions, being sure that all transactions are reported on the records of all companies in a consistent manner that conforms with GAAP.

·        Serve as the company’s risk manager. Prepare analysis of the insurance coverage, costs and recommendations to upper management on risk management.

·        Responsible for maintaining all necessary legal documents and policies including licenses, operating agreements, employment letters, etc.

·        As a member of the Sr. management team, the Director of Finance must help set the strategic direction for the company and drive the implementation of this strategy while maintaining focus on the day-to-day operations of Crary Industries.

Responsible for all JSox compliance processes and the management of responses for internal Sox audits.

Education:

Bachelor degree from accredited institution with a major in Accounting. MBA or MS in Accounting/Finance is strongly desired. 

Job Experience:

Must have experience as a Corporate Controller, Chief Financial Officer, or Director or Vice President of Finance.

Individual must be fully familiar with all operations of midsized manufacturing business. Must be an energetic self-motivated individual looking for excellent professional growth opportunity. This position demands a tremendous amount of high-level planning and hands-on finance.

·  Meet deadlines– Position will involve a large amount of time sensitive projects. Must be able to meet stated deadlines. Responsible for all inter-company transactions, being sure that all transactions are reported on the records of all companies in a manner that properly reflects the posting in the other company.
