Overview
We are seeking a Director of Sales Finance to lead commercial finance support for a manufacturing organization with a complex product portfolio and multi‑channel sales model. This role will serve as a strategic business partner to Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership, driving pricing strategy, margin optimization, demand planning support, and profitability analysis across customers, regions, and product lines. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in manufacturing or distribution environments and thrives in data‑driven, operationally focused organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary finance partner to Sales and Commercial leaders across regions, channels, and key accounts
- Lead financial support for pricing strategy, margin analysis, discounting, rebates, and customer profitability
- Support demand planning, sales forecasting, and volume/mix analysis in partnership with Supply Chain and Operations
- Evaluate sales performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods, translating results into actionable insights
- Develop and maintain financial models for pricing changes, new products, programs, and customer agreements
- Partner with Sales leadership on contract review, rebate structures, incentive programs, and deal economics
- Support annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, and long‑range planning with a strong commercial lens
- Collaborate closely with Operations, FP&A, and Cost Accounting to align revenue forecasts with production, capacity, and inventory plans
- Prepare executive‑level reporting and presentations for senior leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a sales finance or commercial FP&A team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred
- 10–15+ years of progressive finance experience with significant exposure to manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments
- Proven experience supporting Sales and Commercial teams with pricing, margin, and customer profitability analysis
- Strong understanding of cost structures, volume/mix drivers, rebates, and channel economics
- Experience partnering cross‑functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and FP&A
- Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills
- ERP and planning system experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and executive‑presence skills
