Director of Finance Jobs in United States at Oxenham Group

Title: Director of Finance

Company: Oxenham Group

Location: United States

The Director of Finance serves as the senior financial leader of Oxenham Group, responsible for both the strategic direction and operational integrity of all finance functions. This is a high-impact, full-time leadership role within a growing staffing agency — overseeing financial planning, reporting, compliance, and a cross-functional team that includes accounting, payroll/contractor operations, and administrative coordination.

This role is ideal for a finance leader who combines strategic thinking with operational execution — someone who can own the numbers, develop the team, and serve as a trusted financial partner to executive leadership.

  • Develop and monitor financial models, KPI dashboards, and performance metrics across all business units
  • Provide strategic guidance on pricing, margin optimization, cost structure, and capital allocation
  • Advise leadership on financial risks, opportunities, and the impact of operational decisions on company performance

Financial Operations & Oversight

  • Oversee the integrity of the general ledger, month-end close, and financial statement preparation
  • Review and approve reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and significant financial transactions

  • Own commission structure design in partnership with sales leadership; ensure accurate and timely payment
  • Maintain banking relationships, oversee cash management, and manage AP/AR workflows through direct reports

Team Development & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Directly manage and develop finance and operations team members, with the expectation of a growing direct report structure as the organization scales
  • Set team priorities, conduct performance reviews, and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Serve as the primary liaison to external accountants, auditors, legal counsel, and banking representatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, recruiting, and operations leadership to align financial decisions with business goals

Compliance, Controls & Risk Management

  • Design and enforce internal financial controls, accounting policies, and approval workflows
  • Oversee multi-state sales tax compliance, insurance program management, and all regulatory financial filings
  • Ensure proper classification and documentation of contractor costs, billable expenses, and revenue recognition
  • Monitor and mitigate financial risks including cash flow exposure, contractor misclassification liability, and margin compression

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership or Director-level role
  • Demonstrated experience owning budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy for a growing organization

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and financial modeling; experience building and maintaining executive-level dashboards and reports
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and hold accountable a multi-person finance team

Preferred

  • Experience in a staffing agency, professional employer organization (PEO), or professional services environment
  • Familiarity with contractor cost structures, commission-based compensation, and bill rate/pay rate margin analysis
