Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Leadership: Oversee all core accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Fixed Assets, and Lease Accounting.
  • Financial Reporting: Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process while ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with executive leadership to support the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and financial planning initiatives.
  • Cash Management: Oversee cash flow forecasting, working capital management, treasury activities, and debt covenant compliance.
  • Audit & Compliance: Coordinate annual audits, support tax compliance, and strengthen internal controls to ensure financial integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • M&A Integration: Support acquisition activity by preparing opening balance sheets, coordinating purchase accounting, and integrating newly acquired businesses into accounting systems and reporting processes.
  • Process Improvement: Develop scalable accounting processes, standardize financial policies, and drive automation and system enhancements to support future growth.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Partnership: Serve as a trusted business partner to the CFO, providing financial insights, operational support, and analytical reporting to support key business decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA preferred; CPA required.
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar leadership role.
  • Industry Experience: Background within professional services, architecture, engineering, consulting, or other project-based organizations preferred.
  • M&A Experience: Experience supporting acquisitions, purchase accounting, and post-close financial integration strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting; experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP systems is a plus.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams while driving operational improvements and scalable financial infrastructure.
  • Attributes: Strategic, analytical, and hands-on leader with exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
