The Role
We are hiring a Director, Brand Partnerships to bring new revenue into PAPER across our full portfolio. This is a senior strategic sales and business development role for a self-motivated closer with an established rolodex of brand and agency relationships, a proven record of closing six and seven figure deals, and the autonomy to run their book like their own business.
This is an individual contributor and expansion role reporting directly to the President.
What You'll Do
- Own a book of business and a revenue target. Bring new brands and agencies to PAPER across categories including CPG, retail, tech, spirits, auto, beauty, fashion, finance, telco, travel and entertainment.
- Source, pitch, and close integrated partnership programs across PAPER's full portfolio: editorial, branded content, talent campaigns, tentpole events, custom content, creative agency services, and 360° cultural activations.
- Grow PAPER Agency revenue by selling white label creative, content production, and campaign development services to brand and agency partners.
- Lead deals end to end, from cold outreach and ideation through pitch, negotiation, and close, with internal teams supporting execution of the project post-close.
- Build high-quality pitch decks and proposals, maintain disciplined pipeline hygiene in CRM, and deliver accurate forecasts and reporting to leadership.
- Build and maintain senior relationships at brands and agencies through consistent presence at industry tentpoles, market events, and client entertainment, supported by regular virtual touchpoints.
- Partner closely with editorial, creative and commercial leadership to shape ideas that win and that PAPER can deliver at the highest level.
What You Bring
- 8+ years in a revenue-generating role in brand partnerships, business development, or media sales at a media, culture, talent, advertising, or live events company.
- A proven, demonstrable track record of personally closing six and seven figure brand partnership deals.
- Active direct relationships with senior decision makers at brands and agencies. You can pick up the phone and get the meeting.
- Genuine fluency in culture. You understand pop culture, music, entertainment, fashion, and the internet not as verticals but as how the world moves.
- Entrepreneurial operator energy. You build pipeline from zero, work autonomously, and prefer to run your book like your own business.
- Strong written and verbal communication, sharp negotiation instincts, and presence that holds the room with marketing leaders.
- Excellent judgment on which deals to chase and which to pass on.
