As the authorized representative of the Sri Lankan airline, Bengal Airlift is responsible for managing and promoting FitsAir's passenger business in the Bangladeshi market. Its key responsibilities include passenger sales, reservations and ticketing, sales and marketing, travel agent support, customer service, revenue development, and coordination with the airline's head office to ensure smooth commercial operations.
About the Role
Bengal Airlift Limited, the official Passenger General Sales Agent (PAX GSA) for FitsAir in Bangladesh, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Deputy Manager – Finance & Accounts to support the financial operations of the FitsAir PAX business. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, airline settlement processes, and efficient coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operation
- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries
- Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, and petty cash management
- Prepare invoices, process payments, and manage accounts receivable and payable
Financial Reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
- Analyze and report financial discrepancies and variances
Taxation & Compliance
- Prepare and submit VAT, tax, and other statutory filings
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and company policies
Audit Support
- Assist in internal and external audits
- Prepare audit schedules, documentation, and respond to audit queries
Airline Settlement & SOA Reconciliation
- Maintain and reconcile Statements of Account (SOA) with FitsAir Headquarters
- Ensure timely settlement of airline accounts
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with airlines, vendors, travel agents, and business partners to resolve financial matters
- Handle billing discrepancies and financial clarifications professionally
Refund & Capping Management
- Process passenger refunds and ensure capping settlements are completed in accordance with FitsAir policies and procedures
Educational Requirement
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Candidates partly qualified in professional accounting certifications such as CA (CC), CMA (500 Marks Completed), or ACCA will receive preference
Experience Requirement
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Airlines (Passenger), GSA, or Aviation Finance
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of airline financial accounting and settlement processes, including:Airline settlement structures
- Remittance procedures
- Passenger refunds
- Capping systems
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in resolving financial disputes with vendors, travel agents, and business partners.
- Proficiency in ERP and accounting software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
