JOB SUMMARY

To prepare and deliver high-quality outputs for the Finance Insight & Intelligence function, including dashboards, financial reports, data models, and analytical insights. This role plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the section’s deliverables. The Deputy Manager acts as the primary preparer, supporting the Manager in executing initiatives, coordinating data inputs, and maintaining technical standards in analytics operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Preparation of Deliverables

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and financial insights as per request or scheduled reporting timelines.
  • Translate business requirements into analytical outputs and data visualizations.
  • Align all section outputs to required quality, format, and data accuracy standards to support finance-led standardization and enterprise-wide reporting consistency.
  • Leverage modern AI frameworks by utilizing agentic AI systems, co-pilot style automation and enterprise-ready AI tools to streamline workflow and improve decision making.

2. Automation Development with AI enablement

  • Design and implement automated workflows using Power Automate and related tools.
  • Implement Microsoft Copilot and other AI-driven tools to enhance productivity and decision making.
  • Stay updated in emerging AI technologies and recommend adoption strategies.

3. Data Compilation & Analytics Execution

  • Source, clean, and transform data from multiple systems to support reporting and insight generation.
  • Prepare datasets, data models, and queries using tools such as SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Conduct analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and business performance reviews.

4. Support for Request Fulfilment

  • Actively prepare deliverables for dashboard requests, ad hoc analysis, and insight-related initiatives.
  • Track request progress and maintain structured documentation of assumptions, sources, and logic used.
  • Liaise with analysts or technical staff to resolve data gaps, logic errors, or presentation issues.

5. Quality Assurance & Documentation

  • Perform checks to ensure accuracy, alignment, and consistency of reporting content.
  • Maintain technical documentation, dashboard user guides, and process notes.
  • Propose enhancements to improve efficiency, visual clarity, or usability of analytics deliverables.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of AI-powered knowledge assistants to facilitate easier access to documentation, analytical methodologies and reporting standards within the team.

6. Operational & Coordination Support

  • Assist and support the manager in monitoring delivery timelines, maintaining work plans, and preparing section-level reports and updates.
  • Facilitate the development and refinement of business requirements in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment with business needs.
  • Support the design and deployment of enhancements, ensuring proposed solutions are fit-for-purpose, scalable, and aligned with Finance’s analytics objectives.
  • Coordinate with relevant units such as Data Governance, IT, internal users, and external service providers to facilitate data access, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Assist in collecting user feedback and driving post-delivery improvements to dashboards, reports, and analytics outputs to enhance usability and effectiveness.
  • Explore opportunities to introduce AI automation or AI Agents in analytics workflows, including automated reporting and insight summaries.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent field which is recognized by the Government from any local or abroad higher learning institution
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in analytics, data operations, or business intelligence.
  • Proficient in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and programming languages such as Python and R
  • Hands-on skills in SQL, Excel formulas, and data transformation (Power Query, DAX, etc).
  • Experience implementing automated workflows using Power Automate, Power Apps and related tools.
  • Familiarity with automation (e.g., RPA), scripting, or AI applications is an added advantage.
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage technical tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Malaysian citizen.
  • Obtain a pass in Bahasa Melayu, including an oral test in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
