  1. Job Purpose

To lead and manage the Finance Department by ensuring sound financial management, accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, regulatory compliance, efficient cash flow management, and strong internal financial controls that support the Company's strategic objectives and sustainable growth.

 

  1. Detailed Roles and Responsibilities

· Lead financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with CIFRS, regulatory requirements, and management reporting standards.

· Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to support the Company's strategic business objectives.

· Manage taxation, regulatory compliance, and coordination with external auditors, regulators, and relevant authorities.

· Serve as a member of the Investment Committee (IC), providing financial analysis, investment evaluation, and strategic recommendations for investment decisions.

· Serve as Project Manager for internal improvement initiatives focused on strengthening governance, enhancing operational efficiency, and optimizing business processes.

· Prepare and present financial reports and strategic materials for the Audit Committee (AC), Investment Committee (IC), Executive Committee (EXCO), and Board of Directors (BoD).

· Strengthen internal controls, financial governance, and enterprise risk management frameworks across the organization.

· Provide strategic financial analysis and business insights to support executive decision-making and sustainable business growth.

· Lead and develop the Finance team through coaching, performance management, talent development, and continuous process improvement.

· Lead the implementation of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9, ensuring timely and successful compliance with regulatory implementation deadlines.

· Participate in monthly Group meetings to present financial results, key achievements, business challenges, and strategic recommendations.

· Attend weekly management briefings, monthly Management Committee meetings, and Executive Committee (EXCO) meetings to provide financial updates and strategic support.

· Perform other duties and strategic assignments as directed by the CEO and Executive Director.

3. Qualifications

o Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

o Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.

o Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent are an advantage.

4. Experience

o Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting.

o At least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.

o Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is highly preferred.

5. Knowledge

o Financial management, Accounting principles and standards, Budgeting and forecasting

o Taxation, Financial analysis, Internal controls, Risk management

o Banking operations, Audit processes, Commercial regulations relevant to finance

o Insurance business operations
