About The Role
The Casual Data Entry Clerk position at Amherst College offers a unique opportunity for individuals seeking part-time employment during the summer months. As a vital support role within the college’s administrative framework, this position involves handling various data management tasks related to student records, vendor invoices, and departmental documentation. This is a temporary, summer-only position with no benefits, offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19 to $22, depending on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrate proven experience in data entry or similar administrative roles. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high levels of accuracy are essential. Candidates should be proficient in managing multiple tasks simultaneously and maintaining an organized workflow. Technical skills required include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with team members and handle various responsibilities. The candidate must also adhere strictly to confidentiality and privacy policies, successfully pass reference and background checks, and complete required pre-employment physical and lift tests. An acceptable criminal offender records information (CORI) check is also required.
Responsibilities
- Print and reconcile all first-year student ID cards to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Enter invoices and department charges into the WorkDay system for all Dining Services programs, ensuring data accuracy and timely processing.
- Maintain comprehensive records of insurance policies and business contracts for all Dining Services vendors, facilitating easy access and retrieval.
- Assist with the reconciliation of invoices on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure financial accuracy and accountability.
- Support the relocation efforts to the new Student Center and Dining Commons by performing related administrative tasks and data management activities.
