About the Role
A large Queensland Government organisation is seeking a Data Analyst to join its Procurement and Contract Management function.
In this role, you will deliver procurement-focused business intelligence and data insights to support strategic decision-making, operational performance, and governance. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across finance and procurement to analyse supplier, financial, and transactional data, helping drive improved outcomes across the procurement lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse procurement, supplier, and financial data to deliver actionable insights and reporting
- Develop dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI and Excel
- Provide data-driven advice to stakeholders, translating complex insights into clear recommendations
- Support procurement planning, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Maintain and improve data management and reporting processes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement business intelligence solutions
- Perform database interrogation and ensure accurate, high-quality reporting outputs
- Contribute to continuous improvement and best practice in data and procurement processes
Highly Desirable Criteria
- Strong experience in data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence delivery
- Proficiency with Power BI, Excel, and data visualisation tools
- Experience working with procurement, supplier, or financial datasets
- Ability to translate data into meaningful insights for business stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience with database querying and data extraction
Desirable Criteria
- Exposure to procurement frameworks, contract management, or category management
- Experience in government or regulated environments
- Familiarity with SharePoint or data management platforms
