Our client is an Asset Management firm based in Abu Dhabi. The firm operates globally sourcing investment opportunities. We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Specialist with deep expertise in Financial Institutions to join our growing team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will play a key role in credit origination, underwriting, and portfolio monitoring. Key Responsibilities
- Source and screen new credit opportunities across banks and non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs) in Emerging Markets, working closely with origination and investment teams.
- Perform in-depth fundamental credit analysis, evaluating financial performance, capital adequacy, asset quality, liquidity, governance, and the macro-regulatory environment.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models, stress-testing, and scenario analysis frameworks to support investment recommendations.
- Prepare high-quality credit memoranda and investment committee presentations, including clear investment theses and risk assessments.
- Support transaction structuring, documentation review, and legal due diligence in coordination with internal and external legal teams.
- Assist in negotiating financial covenants, security packages, and ongoing information requirements.
- Monitor the existing credit portfolio, track performance, refinancing prospects, and emerging risks/opportunities.
- Contribute to credit event management and recommend appropriate strategies and solutions.
Candidate Profile
- Relevant experience in credit analysis, credit research – with a proven focus on Financial Institutions.
- Strong track record covering banks and NBFIs, ideally gained at an Asset Manager, Development Finance Institution, or rating agency with a focus on Emerging Markets.
- Full-cycle credit experience spanning origination, underwriting, execution, and ongoing monitoring.
- Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to build robust stress-testing and scenario frameworks.
- Self-starter with strong communication skills
- Preferred: CFA or FRM charter (or significant progress towards either.)
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline from a reputable institution.
- Proficiency in English is essential, additional languages are a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and platforms.
