Role Description The Credit Risk Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Zanzibar City. This role is responsible for analyzing the creditworthiness of clients, reviewing financial statements, and assessing potential risks associated with lending and credit exposure. The specialist will monitor existing portfolios, prepare risk reports, and recommend credit limits and risk mitigation strategies in line with company policies. Daily tasks include collaborating with relationship managers, updating risk models, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting internal audits and compliance reviews. The role also involves contributing to the development of risk frameworks, participating in client meetings, and providing clear, data-driven insights to senior management.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Credit Risk Management and Risk Management skills for assessing and mitigating exposure.
  • Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and support data-driven decisions.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of Finance and Credit to evaluate credit applications and understand lending practices.
  • Relevant experience in credit analysis, banking, or financial services is beneficial.
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial analysis tools; experience with risk modeling software is an advantage.
  • Attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
