We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our clients finance team in Slough. This role is key to maintaining strong cash flow by managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and reducing credit risk while building positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the credit control process, monitoring debtor balances, resolving account queries, and providing clear reporting on outstanding debt.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer accounts to ensure payments are received within agreed terms
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve payment or invoice queries
  • Perform credit checks and review customer credit limits
  • Set up new customer accounts and maintain accurate records in the ERP system
  • Carry out daily bank reconciliations and allocate incoming payments
  • Process invoice runs, upload invoices to customer portals, and issue statements
  • Review and release orders on hold in line with company policy
  • Produce weekly and monthly debtor reports with analysis for the finance team
  • Support month-end, year-end, and audit processes

About You

  • Previous Credit Control or Accounts Receivable experience
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs)
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
