Overview
A growing financial services platform is seeking a Credit Analyst to support underwriting and ongoing credit evaluation of asset-based lending facilities for e-commerce businesses. This role combines traditional financial analysis with marketplace and operational data to support credit decisions in a fast-paced lending environment.
Key Responsibilities
Application Processing & Underwriting Support:
- Process new credit applications and perform initial screening
- Gather and validate financial, operational, and third-party diligence data
- Support automated and data-driven underwriting workflows
Credit & Financial Analysis:
- Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and business performance trends
- Evaluate revenue quality, customer concentration, and growth sustainability
- Assess unit economics, margins, and cost structures
Collateral & Business Evaluation:
- Analyze inventory, working capital, and collateral quality
- Validate valuation assumptions and recovery scenarios
- Review operational and platform-related performance indicators
Credit Memoranda & Recommendations:
- Prepare detailed credit memos including risk analysis and deal structure
- Support presentation of recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Document approvals, declines, and key risk considerations
Ongoing Portfolio Support:
- Assist with periodic credit reviews and re-underwriting
- Partner with Portfolio Managers on higher-risk accounts
- Track portfolio trends and contribute to risk monitoring processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or financial analysis
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience in asset-based lending, inventory finance, or commercial lending
- Exposure to e-commerce, marketplace businesses, or consumer brands
