Role Description

The Cost Accountant role at LMTD Specialty Coffees is a full-time, on-site position based in Abu Dhabi. The role is responsible for tracking and analyzing production and operational costs across the roastery and coffee shop functions, including raw materials, labor, and overhead. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing cost reports, assisting with pricing decisions, reconciling inventory and cost variances, and supporting month-end close through accurate journal entries and cost allocations. The Cost Accountant will collaborate with finance and operations teams to maintain reliable cost data, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide insights that improve profitability and efficiency. The role also involves maintaining internal controls, supporting financial audits, and recommending process improvements in cost management.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in cost accounting and experience with inventory and production cost analysis.
  • Ability to prepare, interpret, and explain financial statements to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Proficiency in journal entries (accounting) and core finance processes, including month-end close and reconciliations.
  • Relevant academic background, such as a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience with accounting software and spreadsheets; strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in food & beverage, manufacturing, or retail environments is an advantage.
  • Commitment to ethical financial practices and adherence to applicable accounting standards.
