The Difference You Make:
The Vice President in Corporate & Investment Banking Export & Agency Finance will play a key role in originating, structuring, and executing export credit agency (ECA)-backed and agency-supported financing transactions. The role involves close collaboration with corporate clients, ECAs, multilaterals, and internal stakeholders to deliver tailored financing solutions supporting cross-border trade and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Origination & Client Coverage
    • Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients, sponsors, exporters, and financial institutions.
    • Identify and originate ECA-backed and agency financing opportunities across sectors (infrastructure, energy, transportation, etc.).
    • Support senior bankers in marketing and pitching structured financing solutions.
  • Structuring & Execution
    • Lead or support structuring of complex ECA and agency-backed transactions (buyer credits, supplier credits, guarantees, insurance).
    • Coordinate due diligence, financial modeling, and credit analysis.
    • Manage end-to-end execution, including term sheet negotiation, documentation, and financial close.
  • Agency & Stakeholder Management
    • Build and maintain relationships with export credit agencies (e.g., UKEF, Euler Hermes, SACE, US EXIM) and multilateral institutions (e.g., IFC, EBRD).
    • Act as a key point of contact between clients, ECAs, legal counsel, and internal teams.
  • Credit & Risk Management
    • Prepare credit memos and internal approval materials.
    • Work closely with risk, legal, and compliance teams to ensure transactions meet internal and regulatory standards.
    • Monitor portfolio performance and manage ongoing client relationships.
  • Market Intelligence & Strategy
    • Track market trends, regulatory developments, and ECA program changes.
    • Contribute to business strategy, pipeline development, and product innovation.
  • Team Leadership
    • Mentor junior team members and analysts.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • 6–10+ years of experience in structured finance, export finance, project finance, or corporate banking.
  • Proven experience working with ECAs and agency-backed financing structures.

Technical Skills

  • Strong financial modeling and credit analysis skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of ECA products (buyer credit, supplier credit, guarantees, insurance).
  • Familiarity with loan documentation (LMA standards preferred).

Core Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Relationship & Commercial Skills

  • Established network with ECAs, banks, sponsors, or exporters is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to originate business and contribute to revenue generation.

Other Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Additional languages are a plus, especially for international coverage roles.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
