About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Community Development Financial Institution Portfolio Manager (technical job title: Lead Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager) to help manage a large, national portfolio of loans to Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and related entities, and to manage a group of assigned relationships and related loans. This portfolio contains loans and lines of credit with diversified terms and structures.

In this role, you will:
In support of senior management and coverage bankers, be responsible for portfolio-wide tracking and reporting for a portfolio of CDFI loans within Community Lending & Investment (CLI), the group that houses our primary balance sheet lending platform for community development loans (which also includes our lending for affordable housing, community facilities, etc.)
Analyze and underwrite new loan opportunities within the assigned portfolio, utilizing client data, market knowledge, internal loan information, and third-party market research.
Review and make recommendations for approval (or denial) of extensions and modifications.
Collaborate with senior management and coverage bankers to develop strategies around relationship optimization and deal level execution.
Interface with customers to assist in solving day-to-day account issues, identifying needs and maintaining strong relationships.
Present and advocate to credit committee for approval of loans, modifications, and extensions.
Work with outside counsel, internal compliance, and our loan closing teams to close modifications and new loans.
Review and approve draws on lines of credit.
Conduct quarterly and annual portfolio reviews to identify potential concerns.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the CDFI industry.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Demonstrated interest in leading portfolio management activities.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience in the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) industry.
Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships while actively participating in the successful execution of complex transactions.
Familiarity with various loan structures.
Ability to apply sound judgment in the application of analytical conclusions to credit approval, structure, and management recommendations.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to interact with all levels of an organization.
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including some advanced accounting and finance functions in Microsoft Excel.
Job Expectations:
Ability to travel up to 20% domestically or as needed
Ability to work additional hours as needed
This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CFR 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$120,400.00 – $287,600.00
